Your AMYGDALA (the plural = "Amygdal") refers to the two paired "neuron modules" (clusters of neurons) in your limbic system, which are the size and the shape of two almond nuts. They activate your "fight-flight-or-freeze" basic survival function and strongly "mediate" (influence) your social and sexual behavior in conjunction with your PREFRONTAL CORTEX ("PFC").
