The third and final stage of evolutionary development of the primitive prehuman brain, which developed into our distinctly modern human brain, is known as the NE0CORTEX COMPLEX. The Triune Brain Theory explains how the primitive NEOCORTEX COMPLEX evolved to become the CEREBRUM of modern human brains after many millions of years of development. Your CEREBRUM is known as your "intellectual brain and also your "executive brain," since it has the capacity to consciously control the vital functions of the rest of your brain and body when it is healthy.
