ALPHABETICAL BRAIN VOCABULARY
Flash Card #68 - Details
WHAT ARE YOUR
"GLUTAMATE NEURONS"
AND WHY ARE THEY
SO IMPORTANT?
Your GLUTAMATE NEURONS assist the chemical processes of your brain's "synaptic plasticity."
They play the essential role of regulating the entry of CALCIUM IONS into your neurons.
When that function is well balanced, you can pay attention and learn new things easily and form new memories more easily.
However, when excessive calcium ions are allowed into your neurons, some of your SYNAPSES are removed, which results in the destruction of some of your MEMORY resources.
