ALPHABETICAL BRAIN VOCABULARY
Flash Card #53 - Details

WHAT DOES YOUR
"PREFRONTAL CORTEX"
DO IN RELATION TO YOUR
SHORT-TERM MEMORY
AND WHY
IS IT SO IMPORTANT?

Your PFC or PreFrontal Cortex is the part of your CEREBRUM that integrates your perceptions, which are stored temporarily in your SHORT-TERM MEMORY resources in your VISUAL CORTEX, which is in your OCCIPITAL LOBES.

It evaluates the relevance of your perceptions by "pulling-out" memories from your LONG-TERM MEMORY resources and immediate consciousness.

The regulatory "nuclei modules" of your LONG-TERM MEMORY resources are contained in your HIPPOCAMPI, which are located in your LIMBIC SYSTEM, and which are involved whenever you evaluate potentially dangerous situations or the anticipated value of any new idea or skill.
