ALPHABETICAL BRAIN VOCABULARY
Flash Card #27 - Details
WHAT ARE YOUR
TWO "OCCIPITAL LOBES"
AND WHY ARE THEY
SO IMPORTANT?
Your OCCIPITAL LOBES process "visual information" from your eyes as well as "imaginary thinking" from your VISUAL CORTEX, which is processed there but connected directly to your PFC or PreFrontal Cortex, which gives you the capacity for your SHORT-TERM "WORKING" MEMORY.
Electrical impulses or signals in your NEURONS travel through NERVE TRACTS directly from your "optic nerve" that starts in your EYES and travels to your OCCIPITAL LOBES in the back part of your brain during the process of "seeing" things in reality.
But your brain uses the same basic NEURAL PATHWAYS and NERVE TRACTS to connect and conduct electerical impulses from your OCCIPITAL LOBES to your LIMBIC SYSTEM (where your feelings originate) and your PFC Lobes (where your ideas originate).
