ALPHABETICAL BRAIN VOCABULARY
Flash Card #71 - Details

WHAT ARE YOUR
"OREXIN NEURONS"
AND WHY ARE THEY
SO IMPORTANT?

Your OREXIN NEURONS primarily influence the level of your sleep-wake cycle or "circadian rhythm arousal" by keeping you more-or-less awake.

They are "projected" (distributed) to the sources of the "nuclei cluster" sites of your ACETYLCHOLINE, DOPAMINE, HISTAMINE, SEROTONIN, and NOREPINEPHRINE (adrenaline) neurotransmitters.

Also they can make you feel hungry since they influence the degree to which you "crave" food.
