ALPHABETICAL BRAIN VOCABULARY
Flash Card #76 - Details
WHERE IS THE
"READING AREA"
OF YOUR BRAIN
AND WHY IS IT
SO IMPORTANT?
The READING AREA of your brain is known technically as your "reading comprehension area" and it is located in the PARIETAL LOBE of your LEFT HEMISPHERE.
It is important to remember that the "process" of reading is distinct from the way your brain "sees" the world. This is because the place where your brain processes what you see with your eyes is the "visual cortex area" in your OCCIPITAL LOBES at the back of your brain.
Whether you read primarily by sight or by sound, the READING COMPREHENSION AREA of your brain processes the words that you are reading.
