WHAT IS YOUR
"THALAMUS"
AND WHY IS IT
SO IMPORTANT?

Your THALAMUS (plural is "thalami") refers to a pair of NEURON TRACTS ("nerve fiber tracks") in your LIMBIC SYSTEM, which connect your BRAINSTEM to the rest of your brain and body.

One of the two nerve tracts connects your SENSORY NEURONS that SEND electrical impulses or signals UP your spine and into your brain.

The other nerve tract connects your MOTOR NEURONS that SEND electrical impulses or signals DOWN your spine from your brain into your body.
