Your brain's amazing pea-sized "pituitary gland" is a tiny organ that produces some of your most crucial life-sustaining hormones.

Your pituitary gland consists of two main parts, which are your "posterior lobe" and your "anterior lobe."

A short "stalk" connects your pituitary gland to the rest of your brain. It is located in a protective opening at the base of your brain.
