Your amazing brain requires a rich blood supply in order to function well. Bright red arteries and purple veins flow through your heavily folded grooved mass of grayish-white brain tissue.
Your brain and the blood vessels that connect to it lie completely enclosed inside three layers of membranes called your "meninges."
