DETAILS about NUCLEUS
Brain Flash Card #5
WHAT IS THE
NUCLEUS OF A NEURON
AND WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT?
|
What is the purpose and function of the NUCLEUS of your neuron brain cells?
The nucleus of a neuron is the source of a neuron's action potential spike or biochemical signal that is sent down a neuron's filament to cross a synaptic gap when it is activated by new experiences or habits.
A neuron's nucleus causes other neurons to connect and also activates your muscles, organs, and glands, which in turn causes the movement of your body and your thoughts and feelings.
